Tree removal associated with construction goes through the building permit

Town notice: "In an effort to better streamline tree removals associated with residential construction, tree removal requests will be reviewed through the Building Permit application process. This will allow for tree removals to be reviewed in conjunction with the proposed construction. Residential construction requests include single-family homes, accessory dwelling units (ADU), additions, accessory structures, pools, etc. Tree removal requests not associated with construction will still utilize the Tree Removal Permit application." Trimming up to 10% of the live canopy on an annual basis can typically be completed without damaging the tree. The topping of trees, including crepe myrtles, is not an acceptable practice." TOWN WILL NOT EVALUATE YOUR TREE: "No, Town staff is not able to provide consultations or evaluations for trees."
