Building capacity is reported at a maximum of 350, seating about 200 for a plated dinner, and the venue hosts only one event per day. PLANNED INVENTORY (from the town's own groundbreaking announcement): a TWO-COURT GYMNASIUM with program rooms dedicated to music, art, dance and camp activities; THREE AND A HALF LIGHTED RECTANGULAR ATHLETIC FIELDS (reported elsewhere as artificial turf); TENNIS COURTS and PICKLEBALL COURTS; picnic pavilions; a playground; a maintenance facility; and existing plus newly installed trails connecting into the Mount Pleasant Way trail system, including a scenic boardwalk over the existing wetlands. Contractor Choate Construction Company; designer Liollio Architecture. Recreation Director TJ Rostin is the town's spokesperson on the project. FUNDING: the town's $50 million recreation referendum passed by voters in 2022.
