R.L. Jones Center — Playground and Skatepark

Town recreation center whose official feature list includes a playground, a skate park, a pool, basketball, baseball/softball, locker rooms, restrooms and ADA accessibility. The outdoor playground sits alongside softball and athletic fields and lighted batting tunnels. SKATEPARK: located behind the center, free and open to the public, supervised, hours dawn to dusk. Rules require helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, shirts and shoes at all times, all gear in good condition; skateboards, roller skates and in-line skates only; participants under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult 17 or older; only skaters allowed inside the skatepark; no food or drink inside. The skatepark closes for inclement weather and for special events and camps without prior notice. Indoors: a 25-yard heated indoor pool with locker rooms, a gym, and activity rooms — the indoor pool makes this a year-round option. FENCED: the skatepark is enclosed by its own barrier; the playground is not separately fenced. SHADE: limited; some tree cover at the playground edge, no dedicated shade structure. RESTROOMS: inside the center, available during center hours, year-round. Center hours Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Friday 7:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., closed Sunday. Free parking on site.
