Town-operated park at the base of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Two playground areas. The original nautical-themed structure is modeled on the bridge, with cable-stay climbing elements, covered swings, and poured rubber surfacing; it includes a separate toddler section themed as the USS Yorktown flight deck, sized for roughly ages 2-5, with rubber surfacing patterned as a runway. FENCED: the playground is fully enclosed by fencing. Phase III added a second, inclusive PlayBooster playground for ages 5-12 (opened June 4, 2025) with Smart Play Volo, Chill Spinner, Curva Spinner, OmniSpin Spinner, Curva roller slide, We-Saw, Flexx Swing and traditional swings, on premium safety surfacing and artificial turf rather than wood chips, so it is wheelchair-navigable. SHADE: the elevated bridge deck overhead shades much of the play area through the day; a shaded pavilion was added in Phase III; shaded benches were still being added after the renovation. RESTROOMS: restroom building with changing tables, plus additional restrooms added in Phase III; open year-round. PARKING: free surface parking, expanded in Phase III; no gate fee. Park hours 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. daily. Also on site: 1,250-foot pier over Charleston Harbor with bench swings and shade, River Watch Cafe, Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Pavilion, dog parks with separate large- and small-dog areas, multipurpose court for two basketball or four pickleball courts, outdoor exercise area, and a walking track.
