Listed here as a negative that catches dog owners out: the 1,250-foot Mount Pleasant Pier, operated by Charleston County Parks at the base of the Ravenel Bridge inside Memorial Waterfront Park, states in its visitor information that PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PIER. The surrounding Town park and its Phase III dog park are separate and do allow dogs. Pier hours: January-March 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; April-September 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; October-December 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Daily fishing fees are $7 adults and $4 for children 12 and under, seniors 60+, active military and groups of 10 or more. Phone (843) 762-9946.
