Town of Mount Pleasant off-leash area, named on the Town's official Leash Up MTP off-leash list. Opened June 4, 2025 as part of Memorial Waterfront Park Phase III; the Town's own news release describes the addition as "expanded dog parks" (plural), alongside a splash pad, inclusive playground, two basketball / four pickleball courts, additional restrooms, a shaded pavilion, walking track and MoveStrong outdoor fitness equipment. FEE: none - no admission or gate charge, no registration or permit. HOURS: park hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. RESTROOMS: yes, a restroom facility was built in Phase III (baby changing stations added June 2024). VACCINATION/LICENSE: Town Ordinance 90.54 requires every dog over six months old to wear a collar or harness with a rabies vaccination tag issued by a licensed veterinarian. NOT PUBLISHED by the Town: fence configuration, whether the small-dog and large-dog areas are separately gated, surface material, shade structures, dog water fountains, waste-bag stations, or acreage - the Recreation Department project contact is Steve Gergick, (843) 884-8517 x5556. NOTE: the adjacent Mount Pleasant Pier (operated by Charleston County Parks) does NOT allow pets.
