There is no single entrance to the beach. Access is via numbered 'Station' cross-streets running east-west; each dead-ends at a wooden boardwalk or sand footpath through the dunes. The Town's own project notices reference Stations up to 32 (e.g. stormwater work between Station 27 and Station 32, repaving Station 30 to 31). Beach-fire permits are issued only for Stations 22, 23 and 25. ADA-accessible path access is at Station 26, Station 21 and Station 18-1/2; a portion of the Sullivan's Island Nature Trail has ADA matting connecting the boardwalks at Station 18 and 18-1/2. Blocking any beach path with a vehicle or golf cart is illegal at any time. Trash, recycling and dog-waste bins sit at the end of each path. Beach wheelchairs with over-sized wheels are available free to residents and visitors by advance reservation — submit a Beach Wheelchair Application to Town Hall, 2056 Middle Street, Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., 843-883-3198. An Island-Wide ADA Parking Space Location Map is published by the Town.
