A 1,250-foot pier into Charleston Harbor directly beneath the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, built on pilings salvaged from the old Silas N. Pearman Bridge. The pier is operated by Charleston County Parks; the surrounding Memorial Waterfront Park is the Town of Mount Pleasant's. Walking the pier is free. Pier hours: January-March 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; April-September 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; October-December 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Daily fishing fees: $7 adults; $4 for children 12 and under, seniors 60+, active military and groups of 10 or more; free with an annual pier fishing pass. Rod rental $15/day plus $25 deposit. River Watch Cafe and gift shop hours: Jan-Feb 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Mar 8 a.m.-sunset; Apr 7 a.m.-sunset; May-Jul 7 a.m.-9 p.m.; Aug-Sep 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; Oct 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Nov 8 a.m.-sunset; Dec 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Restrooms follow cafe hours. Pets are not permitted on the pier. Features an 8,100 sq ft covered pavilion used for dances and events, rocking chairs and porch swings along the deck. The surrounding Town park is open 6 a.m.-11 p.m. and includes a nautical-themed playground, lawns, the Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Pavilion, and a war memorial. Phase 3 of the Town park opened June 4, 2025, adding a splash pad, inclusive playground, basketball and pickleball courts, additional restrooms, a shaded pavilion and expanded dog parks across Harry Hallman Blvd. Onsite parking is limited; the Town notes free overflow parking at Town Hall, 100 Ann Edwards Lane, and at the Cheryll Woods-Flowers Soccer Complex, 85 Patriots Point Blvd. Fishing is suspended on the day of the Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival each spring.
