HOW TO START: apply online (residential start form) or in person at Rifle Range Road. MPW states that before residential service begins, "MPW must first receive a stop service request from the current account holder to close the existing account" — at a closing this is the seller's step, so coordinate it or the start is delayed. Start/stop requests are "processed within two business days." PUBLISHED FEES as of the date checked (3 Sep 2026), from MPW's own service pages: residential SECURITY DEPOSIT $100; "Only homeowners who have displayed positive paying history during the past three years will be exempt from this deposit" — tenants pay it regardless. NEW ACCOUNT FEE $75 on all new service establishments. TRANSFER FEE $25 if moving within 30 days, which exempts the customer from the $75 new account fee. Fees are applied to the first month's bill. RATES: MPW bills a fixed monthly Basic Facility Charge per residential equivalent unit (REU = 300 gallons/day) plus a four-tier volumetric rate — Tier 1 up to 9,200 gal/mo, Tier 2 9,201–18,400, Tier 3 18,401–27,600, Tier 4 27,601+. The current FY2027 Rate Schedule is downloadable from the rates page; specific per-gallon figures are not reproduced here. MPW is rate-funded, not tax-funded.
