Charleston County Environmental Management, phone (843) 720-7111, email Recycle@CharlestonCounty.org. Curbside recycling in Mount Pleasant is a COUNTY service, not a Town service — the Town's own page says so. COLLECTION: "Charleston County collects residential recycling biweekly (every other week) at the curb." Look up your specific pickup day on the County's GIS lookup at chascogis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/instant/lookup/. CART: a 95-gallon wheeled roll cart is the only container accepted at the curb; the older 22-gallon bins are not collected curbside and are for use as an indoor station. Single-family homes on existing County routes are eligible for one 95-gallon cart — request one at charlestoncounty.gov/departments/environmental-management/recycle-bins.php. SINGLE STREAM: "combine paper products, cardboard, plastic bottles & containers, aluminum and glass all together — there is no sorting required." Items go in loose, not in bags or boxes, with the lid closed. SET-OUT: at the curb by 7 a.m. on your day (or the night before), at least 3 feet from cars, mailboxes and vegetation, handles facing the house. CHRISTMAS TREES: recycled either at the curb or at a staffed County convenience centre; "Remember to remove all decorations such as lights, tinsel, ornaments, etc." Trees collected curbside "are transported to the Bees Ferry Compost Facility to be ground and composted." Holiday schedule: no curbside recycling on December 25 or January 1, with makeup collection the day after your regular pickup. Household hazardous waste goes to the Awendaw Convenience Center or Bees Ferry Landfill.

Jim farms seven Mount Pleasant neighborhoods specifically — not “the Charleston area.” That is the whole point of this index: one agent who knows which street floods, which floor plan appraises, and what the last eleven sales actually closed at, because he keeps the record himself.
