How a resident finds out about a project near them

The Town publishes a Projects and Applications Map maintained by the Planning, Land Use, and Neighborhoods Department that shows upcoming agenda items for the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, Design Review Board and Historic District Preservation Commission. Clicking a marker returns information about the application, and where an agenda, site plan or elevation exists a link is provided in the pop-up; a filter-by-type control limits the display to one category. The Agenda Center is a searchable archive of agendas and minutes for Council, Committees of Council, and all boards and commissions, filterable by date range and category, with material prior to June 30, 2017 in the Archive Center. Town Council agendas are posted the Friday preceding the monthly meeting. Residents can subscribe to email and text alerts through the Town's Notify Me service to receive agendas and minutes automatically. Meetings are streamed on YouTube. Written comment is accepted for each body — planning@tompsc.com for the Planning Commission (due the Friday before the meeting), three business days before the meeting for the Board of Zoning Appeals — and all of it becomes public record published with the agendas and minutes.
