The Town of Mount Pleasant Public Services Department, Waste Management Division, collects household garbage and trash; Charleston County collects recycling. Phone (843) 849-2022, Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Garbage and trash are collected on the same day. "Please have Town-issued rollcarts curbside by 7:00am with handles facing the house" — trucks are on the road at 7 am. Rollcarts must be removed within 12 hours of collection. Household garbage goes in the brown rollcart; broken-down cardboard is accepted in the cart, and "Cardboard outside of Roll Carts will not be collected." Only Town-issued carts are collected, and only two carts per property are allowed; a supplemental second cart is $70 through the Public Services Department, with delivery taking up to several weeks. Damaged carts can usually be repaired — call (843) 849-2022. A Roll Cart Assistance Program is available for qualified residents. Used oil and oyster shells may be dropped off at the maintenance facility at 1351 Sweetgrass Basket Parkway. Verified 2026-09-04.

Jim farms seven Mount Pleasant neighborhoods specifically — not “the Charleston area.” That is the whole point of this index: one agent who knows which street floods, which floor plan appraises, and what the last eleven sales actually closed at, because he keeps the record himself.
