NCAA Division I, Southern Conference. McAlister Field House was built in 1939 as The Citadel Armory, renamed March 16, 1973 for Col. David S. McAlister (class of 1924), and completely renovated in 1989, which expanded seating from the original 4,500 to 6,000. It hosts men's basketball, volleyball and wrestling, and also houses the athletic department offices. A video scoreboard was added for 2014-15. Seasons: volleyball late August through November; basketball November through early March; wrestling November through February. Tickets sold through the athletics site on TicketReturn (basketball season tickets, single-game tickets, and the TheLinkU Invitational; wrestling season tickets). Approximately 7 miles from Mount Pleasant, roughly 15-20 minutes over the Ravenel Bridge.
