IOP Free Public Right-of-Way Beach Parking

No permit and no fee is required to park along the public right-of-way at these locations: 3rd Avenue between Ocean Blvd and Charleston Blvd; EAST SIDE of 4th Avenue between Ocean Blvd and Charleston Blvd; 5th, 6th and 7th Avenues between Ocean Blvd and Carolina Blvd; EAST SIDE of 8th Avenue and EAST SIDE of 9th Avenue between Ocean Blvd and Carolina Blvd; Palm Boulevard between 21st and 40th Avenue; and Palm Boulevard between 42nd Avenue and 53rd Avenue (the City's Parking Rules page states 42nd to 57th Avenue — the two ParkIOP pages disagree, so read the posted signs). Right-of-way parking is regulated 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. RULES: all four wheels must be off the road; no beach access path may be blocked; park facing the same direction as moving traffic. On the OCEAN side of Palm Boulevard, parallel park at least FOUR FEET off the pavement — this applies from 21st through 53rd Avenue. On the LAND side of Palm Boulevard between 21st and 40th, angle park in the marked spaces only, pulled up close to the parking stop so the shoulder stays clear for emergency access. Double parking on the passenger side of a parallel-parked vehicle is prohibited. Do not block driveways or mailboxes. Typical citation $100; parked on a beach access, on a sidewalk, in a yellow zone, in a no-parking zone, blocking a driveway, tires on the roadway, or more than 18 inches from the curb are each $100; loading zone $200; unpaid paid-parking $50.
