Spoleto Festival USA

Seventeen-day multidisciplinary performing arts festival held annually in Charleston, running from late May into early June. 2027 dates have not been posted - as of this writing the official site shows only a 2026 season wrap and a sign-up for 2027 updates, so the working assumption is the usual late-May-through-early-June window (the 2026 companion festival, Piccolo Spoleto, ran May 22-June 7, 2026). Box office 843-579-3100; administration 843-722-2764. Programming includes opera, orchestral and choral concerts, chamber music, jazz, contemporary and world music, dance and theater. Venues are spread across the peninsula and include the Charleston Gaillard Center, Dock Street Theatre, Sottile Theatre, College of Charleston's Memminger Auditorium and Cistern Yard, and area churches - meaning most Spoleto ticket-holders park once downtown and walk between events. Ticketing is per performance through the festival box office. From Mount Pleasant, all core venues are 5-6 miles over the Ravenel Bridge; garage parking downtown is the constraint, not drive time.
