Agency: South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), Marine Resources Division, PO Box 12559, Charleston SC 29422-2559; licensing phone 1-866-714-3611; purchase at dnr.sc.gov/purchase.html, at license agents, or by phone. SCDNR's statewide licence table states: "No hunting or fishing license or permit required until person reaches age 16." Exemptions also apply to residents holding a valid Gratis Over 65 or Gratis Disability licence. PRICE CONFLICT (both are SCDNR-run pages, checked 2026-09-04): dnr.sc.gov/licenses/pricingresident.html lists the Saltwater Recreational Fishing Licence at $15.00 annual and $10.00 for 14 days, and dnr.sc.gov/marine/shellfish/regs.html gives $15 resident annual / nonresident $75 annual, $35 7-day, $10 1-day, with a 3-year option at three times the one-year cost. The older saltwaterfishing.sc.gov/shellfishharvest.html page still lists $10.00 resident annual / $35.00 nonresident annual. The $15 figure appears on the two more recently maintained pages. The licence is required for fin fishing, crabbing with pots, and shellfish harvest.

Jim farms seven Mount Pleasant neighborhoods specifically — not “the Charleston area.” That is the whole point of this index: one agent who knows which street floods, which floor plan appraises, and what the last eleven sales actually closed at, because he keeps the record himself.
