Missed trash or garbage pickup

Call the Public Services Department at (843) 849-2022, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The town publishes: garbage and trash are collected on the same day and "must be curbside by 7 am," with Town-issued rollcarts placed curbside handles-facing-the-house; the town states it cannot give a specific collection time because of traffic, volume and weather. Reasons the town lists for a missed collection: the truck came by early and the container was not out, non-collectable debris was included, or a route change missed the address. Garbage goes in the brown Town container; trash means bagged yard debris (brown paper bags), tree limbs, appliances and furniture. Collection dates by subdivision are in the town's annual Waste Management Calendar. A Roll Cart Assistance Program is available for qualified residents. Used oil / gas-oil mixtures (up to 5 gallons at a time) and oil filters are accepted at the Town drop-off at 1365 Sweetgrass Basket Parkway, under the blue awning across from the Waste Management office. No collection fee is published on the town's curbside collection page.
