The town's Short-Term Rentals page carries a heading "Renewal Period Has Ended" and the text: "Short-term rental applications to renew an existing permit for 2026 will no longer be taken. If you have a current (2025) short-term rental permit, you continue to rent through December 31, 2025. Only those that applied to renew their short-term rental permit and are approved will receive a 2026 short-term rental permit. Any remaining short-term rental permits will be offered to those on the wait list after all renewal permit applications have been reviewed." That wording was still on the page on 3 September 2026 and describes the renewal cycle that closed 15 December 2025 for the 2026 permit year; the page has not been updated to describe the next cycle. Under § 156.519(A)(2)(a) the annual window runs "starting November 15 and ending midnight December 15," so the next window on the ordinance's own terms falls 15 November - 15 December 2026 for 2027 permits. The town's public portal showed 399 licensed properties against the 400 cap on the same date.
