Hours Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, but the office publishes a recording cutoff: "We do not record in person with walk-in documents after 4:30PM." Records deeds, mortgages, plats, liens and other land records. Recording fees are published in the county's own fee document at charlestoncounty.gov/departments/rod/files/recording-fees.pdf — the figures are not printed on the department page, so pull the current PDF rather than relying on a quoted amount.
