Boat landing rules — Charleston County Code § 14.5-4

CCPRC maintains 19 public boat landings countywide and publishes no launch or parking fee for them. Landing conduct is governed by Charleston County Code of Ordinances § 14.5-4 (Ord. #1226, 8-13-02; Ord. #2070, 8-20-19), which makes it unlawful to: abandon or park a vehicle or trailer at a public landing for more than 72 consecutive hours; transact commercial functions on landing premises; use landing parking solely for a for-profit business's customers; advertise a vehicle or trailer for sale there; use landings to store, load or transport construction materials without a special permit; use trailer-designated spaces for non-trailer vehicles on weekends or holidays; obstruct the launch or "make ready" lane for more than 15 consecutive minutes; consume alcohol on landing premises; or operate ATVs/off-road vehicles on the premises. CCPRC's own rules add: tying to a floating dock for more than 15 consecutive minutes is prohibited; swimming is prohibited; and cleaning or disposing of fish, shrimp, crabs, oysters or game at the landing is prohibited except at DNR oyster shell collection sites.
