US 17 Corridor Safety Enhancement (SS4A)

Town of Mount Pleasant, SS4A funded. Budget $3,880,000. Design underway, anticipated complete December 2027; no construction date published (checked Sept 4, 2026). Scope: landscaped medians and channelization of turning movements to reduce conflicts at four locations — US-17 between Ira Road and Hungryneck Boulevard; US-17 between Hungryneck Boulevard and Six Mile Road; US-17 between Long Point Road and Carolina Park Boulevard; and the Houston Northcutt Boulevard / Johnnie Dodds Boulevard intersection. For a driver this means more raised median and fewer places to turn left across US 17.
