Department headquarters and one of three registration sites (the others are Park West and the G.M. Darby Building). The Athletic Division serves about 15,000 people annually across youth and adult sports. Youth sports offered: baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, lacrosse, track and cross country, volleyball, rugby, and wrestling, plus camps, private lessons, tennis, a skate park, and Unified/Therapeutic Recreation programming. Registration runs on four fixed seasonal windows announced in advance: 2026 Winter Athletics Sept 28 - Oct 12, 2026; 2026 Winter Select Basketball and Rec Basketball Oct 12 - Nov 2, 2026; 2027 Spring Athletics Dec 28, 2026 - Jan 11, 2027; 2027 Summer Athletics Mar 22 - Apr 5, 2027; 2027 Fall Athletics Jun 28 - Jul 12, 2027. Register online through the MyVSCloud portal at mtpleasantrec.com or in person at R.L. Jones, Darby or Park West. Fees are tiered resident/non-resident - examples: Mount Pleasant Track Club $60 resident / $120 non-resident; Mount Pleasant FC soccer U8-U14 $340 resident / $460 non-resident and U15-U19 $220 resident / $330 non-resident. The department publishes program listings in the seasonal InMotion Magazine, available online or in print at any facility, and uses RainedOut.com for weather cancellations. It recruits volunteer coaches for youth sports. The town skate park sits behind the R.L. Jones Center at 391 Egypt Rd. The Jones Center Pool is one of two department pools; the weekly pool schedule is posted and changes week to week.
