3.5 miles of Atlantic beachfront between Charleston Harbor and Breach Inlet. NO LIFEGUARDS AT ANY TIME — the Town's rules page states all residents and visitors enter the ocean at their own risk. No public restrooms at any beach access; nearest public restrooms are at Fort Moultrie. Alcohol is prohibited on all streets, boardwalks and beaches. No plastic, polystyrene or glass containers on the beach at any time; the single-use plastics ban covers plastic bags, plastic straws and polystyrene coolers, cups, bowls, plates and clamshells, fine up to $500 per offense. Smoking and vaping are prohibited on the beach, on beach access paths, and in any public space on the island. Tents and umbrellas must be properly anchored; tents must be 10 ft x 10 ft or smaller. No motorized vehicles on beach paths or the beach, including golf carts and low-speed vehicles. No fireworks at any time. All commercial activity is prohibited on the beach, including vendors, photography and filming. No activity, including loose dogs, in the dunes or near turtle nesting areas. All trash and dog waste must be carried out; dog-bag, recycling and trash receptacles are at the end of each beach path. Enforcement by Sullivan's Island Police. Town Hall 843-883-3198.
