SCDOT road, camera and reversal information during an evacuation
Published by511sc.org
SCDOT publishes real-time evacuation traffic information through the Enhanced 511 Traveler Information System at https://www.511sc.org/ , which SCDOT describes as providing "traffic camera images, travel time estimates and other technological tools." SCDOT publishes an I-26 Hurricane Evacuation Lane Reversal map showing exit status ("Rest Area Closed / Exit Only / Exit / Entry") with the notes "No Access to I-77 from Reverse Lanes" and "EXIT 177w & 194w Entry Only No Exit," at https://www.scdot.org/content/dam/scdot-legacy/travel/pdf/evac_maps/PublicMap_PrimaryPlan_SizeA_13062022.pdf. SCDOT customer service: 855-GO-SCDOT / 855-467-2368, 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and 803-737-1200. SCDOT is responsible under Annex E for "the evacuation route directional signs placed along all routes," and SCEMD's traffic-management page instructs that motorists should "follow those signs and not their GPS device, which may not follow the evacuation routes."
