Hurricane season dates and where the National Hurricane Center publishes advisories

NOAA's National Hurricane Center publishes: "The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30," and "The peak of the Atlantic hurricane season is September 10, with most activity occurring between mid-August and mid-October." Advisories are published at https://www.nhc.noaa.gov (also reachable as hurricanes.gov, the address SCEMD prints in the 2026 Guide). NHC states that "Forecast/Advisories are issued on all Atlantic, eastern Pacific, and central Pacific tropical and subtropical cyclones every six hours at 0300, 0900, 1500, and 2100 UTC," and that "Intermediate public advisories are issued every 3 hours when coastal watches or warnings are in effect."
