MPRD Youth Baseball — Recreation, Diamond and Travel

Three tiers of town youth baseball. Recreation is the no-evaluation league with auto-generated rosters (fall 10U, 12U, 14U, 18U; spring 8-year-olds, 9/10, 11/12, 15/18); participants receive a shirt and hat. Diamond Baseball follows youth baseball rules, requires evaluations, and selects one all-star team per league of up to 12 players (spring 9/10 and 11/12). The Travel Baseball League requires evaluations and plays regional opponents in the Coastal Competitive League; MPRD fields a maximum of two teams per age division (fall ages 9, 10, 11, 12). A 60/90 team serves ages 12-14. Registration windows: fall late June-mid July; spring late December-mid January. Baseball/softball coordinator Jeff Labiento, 843-884-2528 ext. 9028. Girls softball runs in parallel through the Lowcountry Softball league (10U, 12U, 15U), with a fall instructional program run in partnership with Wando High School.
