Private Roman Catholic high school operated by the Diocese of Charleston, on a 40-acre Daniel Island campus occupied since 1998, a short drive from Mount Pleasant. Grades 9-12; enrollment about 730. Athletics phone 843-849-9599. LEAGUE AFFILIATION: Bishop England competes in the SCHSL, not SCISA — it is one of a small number of private schools in South Carolina that do. Class AAA (3A), Region 5 under the SCHSL 2026-2028 realignment, moving down from Class AAAA. Region 5 members: Bishop England, Georgetown, Hanahan, North Charleston, Oceanside Collegiate. SPORTS BY SEASON — Fall: football, girls volleyball, boys volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls swimming, girls tennis, girls golf, competitive cheer, sailing. Winter: boys and girls basketball, wrestling, ice hockey. Spring: baseball, softball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls track and field, boys tennis, boys golf, rugby. DOCUMENTED STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (historical fact): the girls volleyball program has won 28 state championships since the program began in 1974, including 18 consecutive titles from 2000 through 2017 —.
