Free outdoor concert series presented by the North Charleston POPS! on select Tuesday evenings in the spring, 6-8 p.m., at Riverfront Park on the Cooper River in the former Navy Yard next to the Park Circle area. A recent season opened April 7. Free admission, no tickets; attendees bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Local jazz performers; the current year's lineup is not always posted in advance, and the POPS! lists kevin@northcharlestonpops.org as the contact. The park itself has a performance pavilion, large lawn, walking paths, playground, fishing pier and dog park; park phone 843-308-4746. Drive from Mount Pleasant: about 15-17 miles via I-526 West, roughly 22-30 minutes.
