Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park)

Reachable by car from Mount Pleasant in about 15-20 minutes, no ferry required, which makes it the easier of the two forts for young children. Standard entrance fee $10 per adult age 16 and up; there is no separate charge for children under 16. Payment is credit, debit and contactless only - no cash accepted. An annual park pass is $35 and admits the pass holder plus three other adults. The site includes an indoor visitor center with museum exhibits and a film, plus the fort structure itself, which spans coastal defense from the Revolutionary War through World War II.
