NEAREST CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL to Mount Pleasant — downtown Charleston, across the Ravenel Bridge. Open 24 hours, Monday-Sunday. The MUSC Children's Health Pediatric Emergency Department is on the 1st floor, open 24 hours, phone 843-792-2300; it is a Level I pediatric trauma center with roughly 20 beds and two resuscitation bays. Hospital opened February 2020 with about 250 beds. Also home to the state's only pediatric burn center, solid-organ and bone marrow transplant programs, the state's largest Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, and an advanced maternal-fetal medicine center.
